Volleyball at Loyola: Win 3-1. Taylor Grabowski led the team in kills for Valpo with 13. Brittany Anderson and Allison Ketchum each had two aces in the match.

Up next: Valpo will continue MVC play on the road at Bradley on Friday, Oct. 6 and at Illinois State on Saturday, Oct. 7. Both matches start at 7 p.m. The Crusaders will return to the ARC on Friday, Oct. 13 against Indiana State.

Men’s Soccer at Missouri State: Loss 1-0. Goalkeeper Nacho Miras added only one save to his season total.

At Northern Illinois: Win 3-2. Jonas Engler, Adan Garcia and Rafael Mentzingen all scored for Valpo to lead the Crusaders to victory on the road against NIU.

Up next: The Crusaders will return home on Saturday, Oct. 7 against Evansville. Game starts at 7 p.m.

Women’s Soccer at Drake: Loss 4-2. Kelsey Jahn and Lauren Torhorst scored for Valpo, but it wasn’t enough in the loss to Drake. Goalkeeper Drew Moulton only stopped 3 of 7 shots on goal from Drake.

Up next: Valpo will travel to Loyola on Saturday, Oct. 7. Game starts at 7 p.m.

Men’s Golf at Firestone Invitational: Valpo finished 16th in the 16-team field. Senior Michael Doherty led the team, carding a three round score of 229.

Up Next: The Crusaders will tee off at the Detroit Titan Motown Classic Oct. 16-17.

Cross Country at Notre Dame Invitational: The men finished 17th out of the 19-team field and the women finished 24th out of the 25-team field.

Up next: Valpo will run in the Bradley Classic on Friday, Oct. 13.

Swimming at Butler Double Duel: Junior Bob Bretl clocked a time of 10:25.67 in the 1,000 yard freestyle. Bretl’s time is one of the top 10 fastest times in school history.

Up next: Valpo will host their first home meet of the season against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. in the ARC.
